Chamber of Commerce legalisations and certificates of origin (CoO)
The Chamber of Commerce (CoC) is a company that, on behalf of the government, deals with just about everything related to business administration and trade. All Dutch companies are registered in the CoC database. Anyone can view and request information about companies on the CoC website; the amount of information available depends on the legal form of a company.
What is interesting for the legalisation process is who is authorised to act on behalf of a company. This person (or persons) can sign company documents, after which the Chamber of Commerce legalises the signature. Examples of such documents are: invoices, powers of attorney (PoA), statements, free sale certificates, etc.
Through our digital connection with the Chamber of Commerce, we can quickly arrange such legalisation. We work with both original documents and scans of original documents in this system; working with digital documents (scans) saves a lot of time.

A certificate of origin (CoO) is the starting point of the export process. This document is always required when exporting goods. The document contains information about the origin of the goods, such as the route, the consignor’s address, the type of transport and a description of the goods.
Anyone who wishes to export goods with their company can apply for a CvO. For such applications through us, a number of other documents are required:
- Letter of authorisation stating that your company authorises us (LIASS) to submit applications on your behalf.
- If your company does not manufacture the products itself, a supplier’s declaration is required. This declaration states that the supplier confirms that the product will indeed be supplied and that it has been produced legally.
- If your company manufactures the products itself, a production declaration is required. This contains details about the production of the goods.
